Our work directly supports first responders operating in high-risk environments. We offer long-term stability, consistent production schedules, and a mission-driven manufacturing environment.

Job Summary:
The Automotive & Integration Engineer is responsible for improving the manufacturability, reliability, quality, and assembly efficiency of our vehicles, with a primary focus on vehicle systems integration. This hands-on role evaluates mechanical designs, electrical systems, harnessing, component mounting, hydraulics, and assembly sequences to develop engineering solutions that eliminate labor waste and manufacturing variation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate current vehicle designs using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Spend significant time on the shop floor identifying assembly operations that are difficult, time-consuming, variable, or labor-intensive.
  • Simplify and challenge existing designs by standardizing, modularizing, combining, or preassembling components.
  • Optimize vehicle electrical architecture and harness designs to reduce wiring complexity and installation labor.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, suppliers, and production teams to increase component reliability and diagnostic serviceability.
  • Represent the voice of manufacturing and assembly during formal design reviews and integrate feedback into new product builds.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles, including standard work, point-of-use staging, Kanban replenishment, and mistake-proofing.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience required (4+ years preferred).
  • Strong background in automotive systems, mechanical design, or vehicle assembly environments.
  • Proven proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM, and CAD modeling software is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts (Kanban, 6S, and Visual Management).
  • Strong critical thinking and root-cause problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface effectively between engineering and floor technicians.
  • College degree or Trade School education required; degree in Mechatronics, Design, or Automotive Engineering preferred.

Why Work at Lenco:

  • Engineering role with a focus on high-stakes, life-saving technology
  • Stable, full-time career with a growing U.S. manufacturer
  • Purpose-driven products that protect first responders and military personnel
  • Modern engineering environment with access to specialized equipment
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
