In 2021, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (LASD SEB) responded to a tragic and complex emergency in Agua Dulce, California—one that required both tactical expertise and fire suppression capabilities. The emergency began when an off-duty firefighter tragically shot and killed a co-worker and critically wounded his captain. The suspect then fled to his residence, where he set the home on fire before taking his own life.
