Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician is responsible to carry out routine 12-volt vehicle electrical work including preparation and the fitting of the electronics equipment as defined by standards and work orders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Run electrical wiring using in-house built and prebuilt wiring harnesses.
  • Integrate and install OEM wiring harnesses in Bearcat.
  • Prep and install component assemblies such as switch panels, fuse boards, and relay panels.
  • Install exterior electronics such as thermal cameras, 360 camera systems, sirens etc.
  • Install interior electronics such as lights, monitors, radios etc.
  • Vehicle OEM 12-volt diagnosis and repair
  • Adhere to existing work practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies.
  • Must own mechanics tool set in accordance to Lenco standard tool list.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Adhere to and carry out existing work practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
  • Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

INTERACTION WITH:

  • Work with other teams on the shop floor to ensure trucks are built on schedule.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two plus (2+) years in the automotive industry working on mechanical and electrical systems.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a plus.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • ASE certification preferred. Preferred qualifications: L2 or A6-A7 or E1-E3 or T6-T7.
  • Valid Driver’s License

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and their components.
  • Knowledgeable in air conditioning, suspension, and other mechanical systems.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools
  • Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to tackle new challenges
  • Must have a ‘Can-Do’ attitude
  • Knowledge of Ford vehicles a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to pass a physical exam
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Ability to exert maximum force to pull, and carry objects
  • Must be able to climb into, onto, and under the vehicle
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, and kneeling
  • Vision a minimum 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
  • Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
