Memorial Day is a day to pause and remember the sacrifice and service of those military members who gave all for their country. While this day is often observed through reflection, the laying of wreaths or attending of military parades, sometimes the somberness of the day is overshadowed by retail sales or the promise of a long weekend.
Through this blog, we hope to raise awareness of the history and traditions associated with Memorial Day, and shine a light on another event meant to honor members of our armed forces: Military Appreciation Month.
Driving attention to the month-long observance
It’s been our mission since our founding in 1981 to become a trusted resource for our nation’s defenders. Since our founding, we have proudly designed and fabricated more than 6,000 armored vehicles for nearly 800 state and federal agencies in all 50 states. We are indebted to the work of these brave men and women who, day in and day out, fight for our freedoms. With that in mind, we strive to produce vehicles that will likewise keep them safe.
And, whenever we can, we give back to these groups, and hope you’ll do the same. There are so many opportunities on a national level like the Association of the United States Army (AUSA,) or even locally; just check in with your city or town’s veterans services office to inquire about volunteer opportunities.
Reflect. Remember. Respect.
